Vitamin D has a number of functions in the body. It is essential for the proper functioning of the immune system, maintains healthy bones and teeth, supports muscle function, helps regulate calcium and phosphate metabolism, and is involved in cell division. Studies have shown that vitamin D, when used together with vitamin K, has the effect of increasing bone mineral density (BMD) [1].
